Flower Club.

We are a small group of ladies who like to get together and make floral arrangements from fresh or artificial flowers, as well as having a good natter.  Our meetings take place in the Church Hall on Monday nights.  Our arrangements we make vary in size from anything as small as a jam jar lid to a large floor - stand.  Each time we meet (usually weekly) we recreate (or try to) the arrangement that was demonstrated the week before by our regular teacher Jane.  Once we have completed them, with or without Jane’s help, we clean up so we can have some refreshments.  While we are eating, drinking and chatting, Jane shows us what arrangement she has designed or recreated (her interpretation) from flower books/magazines, for us to attempt the next time we meet.   All the arrangements are based on the time of year and special occasions i.e. Mothering Sunday.

If you have any experience or not and would like to try to make an arrangement like the one pictured, or similar you can contact the secretary/treasurer on;

 Email: kj-rowan@sky.com   Phone:  01925 826832.

Or you can just come along to see what we do.

Monday:   7:30pm.- 9:00pm      Price:  £5.00 per week

Choir Practice.

St Andrew’s Charity Shop

Over the years, we have learned that there are many benefits to running our Charity Shop. As well as raising much needed income for St Andrew’s, it offers clothes and other goods at affordable prices –a real boon in these times of economic crisis. Since it first opened, the shop has grown and changed. The range of goods we are given has grown to include furniture. There are many fascinating items, a few of which leave us guessing  as to what they are meant to be! We have added our ‘drop-in’ area for people who want a little company and we have an adviser from the Carer’s Association, Gail, with us each Wednesday morning giving advice on a whole range of issues. Above all, though, we have made many friends, and it is absolutely lovely to see familiar faces week after week, and to know people so well that we can help them find things they need, listen to them and just be there when they need us. Now, as a result of the credit crunch, more people will need our shop and some will also want our friendship and support.  This is a valuable part of our church’s outreach and very important. In order to keep the shop running, we need a few more people who will give up some time each Wednesday to help. Why not join us? You will make new friends and be doing something really worthwhile. Why not have a word with Jenny?
